WATTever is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 which regulates how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information, and how individuals access and correct their personal information held by us. WATTever also complies with the Spam Act 2003.
2. What personal information do we collect?
You do not have to provide us with any personal information, however, if do not do so, it may affect your ability to use our website or to access any products, services, promotions or benefits offered through it.
3. How do we use personal information?
Personal information is used for purposes including contacting and communicating with customers about electricity comparisons and energy saving opportunities, supporting referral to partner products and services (such as signing up to an electricity retailer you choose), for internal record keeping, market research and for marketing our services. By providing information to WATTever you acknowledge that WATTever may use your electricity profile data in a non-identifiable and aggregated manner for research purposes to promote competition. Any personal information such as email, phone number, street address and NMI are removed before data is aggregated and analysed. Aggregated data contains no individually identifying personal information. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
4. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information for purposes including providing our partners products and services to you, and as required by law. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties for these purposes, we will request that the third party undertake to protect the privacy of your personal information.
5. Access to and correction of personal information
Access: You may request details of personal information that we hold about you as set out in the Privacy Act 1988. An administrative fee may be payable for the provision of information. We may refuse to provide you with information that we hold about you, in certain circumstances set out in the Privacy Act.
Correction: If you believe that any information we hold on you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, please contact us by email. We rely in part upon customers advising us when their personal information changes. We will respond to any request within a reasonable time. We will endeavour to promptly correct any information found to be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

Our website is professionally hosted and operates in a secure environment. Data is held in secure cloud storage computing facilities operated by Amazon Web Services on WATTever’s behalf. However, you should be aware that there is always an inherent risk in transmitting your personal information via the Internet. Accordingly, we cannot and do not accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the internet, or for any unauthorised access or use of that information.
