Enova Energy Queensland entry brings community power

Enova Energy Queensland entry brings community power
Households and businesses in South East Queensland interested in sustainable energy take note. Enova Energy will arrive in Queensland with electricity offers from March 2021, taking their fast-growing community-powered model to the sunshine state. If you are looking for an energy supplier with heart, it’s worth checking out Enova Energy.

What makes Enova different?

Launched in 2016 in Byron Bay in New South Wales, Enova is Australia’s first community-owned power company. As a result, Enova is focused on communities, customers and the welfare of the planet, not corporate profits. The independent retailer is all about doing something practical about climate change, by helping Aussies access cleaner and more affordable renewable energy. So, the social enterprise has started localising Australia’s energy system. Innovative projects like micro-grids and solar gardens assist the community to generate, distribute and share their own renewable power and in turn, lower their costs.

Renewables for all

As well as supporting energy education to help home and business reduce energy use, Enova also work to help more people participate in the move to renewables. Whether due to financial pressure, renting or having a shady rooftop, not everyone can have solar. But Enova reckons they shouldn’t miss out. That’s why, Enova runs projects like the ‘Solar garden’. This enables anyone to purchase panels and get the benefit of renewable energy. The retailer puts panels on the roof of a medium-sized local business who receive cheaper renewable energy. At the same time the investors in the solar gardeners get a credit on the power bills.

Enova Energy’s Queensland move

Enova CEO, Felicity Stening said “I’m very excited to be bringing Enova Community Energy and our vision, to South East Queensland in 2021. As Australia’s first social enterprise energy retailer, with a purpose to enable resilience in communities, we believe our offering is unique. Queenslanders deserve an alternative that reinvests in communities – and that’s exactly what we do. We look forward to welcoming households and businesses throughout South East Queensland on board!”
