With a flat retail price (the traditional model) households pay the same amount, even when there is loads of cheap renewable power in the grid. Amber is different. As an Amber customer, you get access to real-time generation prices, which Amber passes on to customers (along with network, environmental and market charges) without any retail margin/markup. So, your household pays the true cost of energy based on the time you consume it (and also receives the variable wholesale price for solar exports). Amber’s monthly subscription fee is the retailer’s only margin. With retail prices on the rise and wholesale prices falling – it’s time to consider a different way of buying energy. Here’s where you could save with Amber.

Always know the price.

The Amber App keeps customers informed with up-to-the-minute energy pricing information and forecasts. So you can make informed decisions.. Plus, the Amber App’s push notifications inform customers whenever the wholesale price goes above their chosen price limit. It’s just one of the ways the app helps you shift your energy usage to cheaper times and greener times.
Amber is for households that:
Rent or own: Either way, you can tap into the value of wholesale energy with Amber.

Are willing to load shift: Get greater savings by using power when renewable energy is abundant and wholesale prices are low.

Own a battery or electric vehicle: Amber’s wholesale pricing model works perfectly for finding cheap charging and high selling windows to maximise savings.

That do or don’t have solar or battery: Customers without home devices could also enjoy significant savings due to low wholesale prices.

Want to save money and reduce emissions: By switching to Amber, you can lower your energy costs while supporting cleaner, renewable energy.

Value transparency: Get real-time access to wholesale prices, empowering you to take control. And no hidden charges. All generation, network, environmental certificates, market, price protection, carbon offset and membership charges along with GST are show in detail in your monthly bill.
