Compare Midday Power Saver Offers in Victoria

From 1 October 2026, Victorian electricity retailers with 1,000 or more customers must offer the Midday Power Saver to eligible households. Customers with a smart meter can opt in to receive up to 24 kWh of free electricity between 11 am and 2 pm every day. The offer follows the Solar Sharer Offer, introduced in NSW, South Australia and South East Queensland in July 2026.

The Midday Power Saver aims to encourage households to use more electricity when rooftop solar generation is high. Its supply and usage charges are capped, but retailers can charge less, so it pays to compare offers.

Could the Midday Power Saver cut your bill?

That depends on how much electricity you can use during the free period. Running appliances or charging an EV or home battery between 11 am and 2 pm could deliver worthwhile savings. But charges outside those hours may be higher than on other plans. If you cannot shift enough usage, a regular market offer could cost less.
